Department: Accounting Managers

I am an accounting professional with over 20 years of experience and a strong background in technology-based industries such as SaaS, IaaS, managed services, and large-scale cloud migration. I fell in love with accounting in a small automobile dealership office and worked every desk in the office while I pursued my bachelor’s degree at the University of Phoenix.

I have overseen full cycle accounting for multiple early stage and start-up companies. I genuinely enjoy working through complex business challenges, identifying manageable solutions, and creating processes that are clear and scalable.

Outside of my professional life, I deeply enjoy working with rescue dogs. I volunteer at my local shelter, assist at clinics and adoption events, and foster.

I have been working in accounting for 20+ years. During this time, I have demonstrated a strong ability to develop innovative solutions to complex business challenges and contribute significant operational improvements and cost efficiencies. My career has thankfully landed me at Ascent CFO Solutions where I can display my experience and skills with great clients.

My experience is derived from working in multiple industries, such as large retailers, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical companies. I managed critical accounting and financial functions, including month-end close processes, financial reporting, and internal controls. I also specialize in inventory accounting and reconciliation, having worked with major retailers to streamline processes and ensure accurate financial reporting. Adept in several ERP and financial systems, I thrive in dynamic environments, leveraging my skills in problem-solving and streamlining financial processes to drive business success.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Faulkner University in Montgomery, AL, and a Masters Business Administration (MBA) with a focus in Accounting from Auburn University at Montgomery. I enjoy traveling the world, watching movies, and reading great books in my personal time.

As an Accounting Manager with the Ascent CFO Solutions team, I am proud to be able to serve our clients with the utmost integrity and passion. With over 20 years in accounting, finance and human resources, I can approach and solve problems from a myriad of perspectives. I value collaboration and interaction with my teammates and clients to aid in the resolution of challenges.

My professional career began in the tax department at Shell Oil in Houston while I attended law school in the evenings. I completed my law degree at Loyola University of Chicago, passed the Illinois Bar and became an active member of the Bar. Upon moving to Denver, I obtained a job with Arthur Andersen, sat for and passed the CPA exam and became a licensed CPA. My time at Arthur Andersen and subsequent work affiliations gave me broad industry experience ranging from oil and gas, professional services, construction, non-profits, IT services, retail, eCommerce and logistics.

I received my undergraduate degrees in accounting and political science from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. In my spare time, I love to travel with my husband to visit our three daughters in Washington State, Brooklyn, NY, and Avon, CO. We also enjoy international travel to adventure (cycle, ski, scuba) and enjoy understanding and appreciating the global community.

As part of the team at Ascent CFO, I am excited to work with a variety of companies at many different stages of growth. I deeply value the opportunity to drive results, partner with teams, and identify opportunities and solutions to enable the organization to accomplish its goals.

Upon completing my degree in accounting at the University of Central Missouri, I jumped right into the accounting workforce. Despite playing college baseball competitively, the pros were not in my future. I now have 15+ years of deep accounting experience. Most recently, prior to joining the Ascent CFO team, I spent the last 9 years in construction doing all types of accounting with a specialization in cost accounting.

Beyond loving to solve complex financial situations, my favorite job is being a dad to my two children. In my free time, I love trying new foods, hanging with my giant breed dogs, and being out on the baseball field coaching my son’s baseball team.

I joined Dan at Ascent CFO in 2019 and enjoy being a strategic accounting partner for our clients. With over 25 years of accounting experience, I am able to draw on my knowledge from my previous roles to make a positive impact on our clients.

My career path includes experiences at Arthur Andersen LLP, Xcel Energy Inc (for 20 years), and Aduro Advisors LLC.

For 15 years, I was a competitive swimmer and I feel that many of those skills have transitioned into my accounting work ethic. I’m dedicated, hard-working, and I always aim to be a valuable team member. I have a B.S. in Accounting from New Mexico State University.

In my spare time, I enjoy skiing, running, swimming, and reading. However, most of my time is spent shuttling my two daughters to their various sporting and dancing activities.
