Steve Waldron

I am a strategic finance executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience across complex operating environments and diverse industries. Throughout my career, I have built and revitalized finance organizations, implemented scalable processes and systems, and delivered board- and investor-ready reporting that improves transparency and drives shareholder value.

My experience includes serving as the finance lead on successful exits, post-acquisition integrations, capital raises, and transaction readiness initiatives. I have partnered closely with CEOs, executive leadership teams, boards of directors, and both public and private equity sponsors to align financial strategy with business objectives and support sustainable growth.

Before joining Ascent CFO, I founded my own finance consulting firm in 2007. Over the past two decades, I have worked with more than 20 companies, ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 organizations, across a wide variety of industries and roles. That breadth of experience allows me to meet clients where they are and provide practical, high-impact financial leadership tailored to their stage of growth.

Outside of work, I’m a Colorado native at heart. I enjoy fly fishing, golfing, skiing, and catching shows at Red Rocks – pretty much anything that gets me outdoors!
